Jonathan Taylor
Founder & CEO
Jonathan Taylor is the CEO and founder of Blitz Capital Group, a real estate development company with focuses in Park City, UT and Chicago, IL. Growing up in Akron, OH, Jon attended Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with a dual degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Economics in 2008. After graduation, Jon started a decade-long career in high-frequency trading at a then-small trading shop in Chicago called IMC.
While at IMC, Jon helped the company grow into the premier trading firm it is today, expanding from 40 people in 2008 to over 500 people in Chicago. From leading the expansion of IMC into the South American financial markets to helping build a successful U.S. equity business, Jon’s contributions over the years are countless. After a very successful career at IMC, Jon resigned in 2018 to focus full time on the growth of Blitz Capital Group.
While a younger company, Blitz Capital has already completed over $30 million in real estate transactions, with another $30 million expected by the end of 2023.
Jon is deeply involved in two charities:
- Urban Initiatives — developing Chicago’s underprivileged youth through the power of sport and play (Jon serves on the Board of Directors).
- The Dr. R. W. Taylor Scholarship — established by Jon in 2021 after his father’s passing; awards $20,000 annually to a local student from Bath, Ohio (Jon serves as Executive Director).
Jon also sits on the board of a technology startup called Bantr Community, focusing on connections and community in adult recreational sports. He is an avid skier and spends as many winter days as possible on the slopes in Park City.
